III. 102.हम से रहा न जाय ham se rahā na jāy
I hear the melody of His flute, and I cannot contain myself: The flower blooms, though it is not spring; and already the bee has received its invitation. The sky roars and the lightning flashes, the waves arise in my heart, The rain falls; and my heart longs for my Lord. Where the rhythm of the world rises and falls, thither my heart has reached: There the hidden banners are fluttering in the air. Kabîr says: "My heart is dying, though it lives."

The moon shines in my body, but my blind eyes cannot see it: The moon is within me, and so is the sun. The unstruck drum of Eternity is sounded within me; but my deaf ears cannot hear it.
So long as man clamours for the I and the Mine, his works are as naught: When all love of the I and the Mine is dead, then the work of the Lord is done. For work has no other aim than the getting of knowledge: When that comes, then work is put away.
The flower blooms for the fruit: when the fruit comes, the flower withers. The musk is in the deer, but it seeks it not within itself: it wanders in quest of grass.
~Kabīr
II. 24. हंसा कहो पुरातन् वात् Haṃsā, kaho purātan vāt
Tell me , Oh Swan, your ancient tale.
From what land do you come, Oh Swan?
To what shore will you fly?
Where would you take your rest, Oh Swan, and what do you seek?
Even this morning, Oh Swan, awake, arise, follow me!
There is a land where no doubt nor sorrow have rule: where the terror of Death is no more,
There the woods of spring are a-bloom, and the fragrant scent ”He is I” is borne on the wind:
There the bee of the heart is deeply immersed, and desires no other joy.

The form of
water
Behind
desires and worldly passions that the mind entertains, there abides, clear and
undefiled, the fundamental and true essence of mind.
Water is
around in a round receptacle and square in a square one, but water itself has
no particular shape.
People
often forget that.
People see
this good and that bad, they like this and dislike that and they discriminate
existence from non-existence, and then, being caught in these entanglements and
becoming attached to them, they suffer.
If people
would only give up their attachments to these imaginary and false
discriminations, and restore the purity of their original minds, then both
their minds and their body would be free from defilement and suffering; they
would know the peacefulness that comes with that freedom.

To expect
happiness without giving up negative action is like holding your hand in a fire
and hoping not to be burned. Of course, no one actually wants to suffer, to be
sick, to be cold or hungry – but as long as we continue to indulge in wrong
doing we will never put an end to suffering. Likewise, we will never achieve
happiness, except through positive deeds, words, and thoughts. Positive action

stolen, and no one ever stumbles on it just by chance.

Just so,
you might say to them: "The proof that the little prince existed is that
he was charming, that he laughed, and that he was looking for a sheep. If
anybody wants a sheep, that is a proof that he exists." And what good
would it do to tell them that? They would shrug their shoulders, and treat you
like a child. But if you said to them: "The planet he came from is
Asteroid B-612," then they would be convinced, and leave you in peace from
their questions.

Happiness
by Gendun Rinpoche
Happiness cannot be found
through great effort and willpower,
but is already here, right now,
in relaxation and letting go.
Don't strain yourself, there is nothing to do.
Whatever arises in the mind
has no importance at all,
because it has no reality whatsoever.
Don't become attached to it. Don't pass judgement.
Let the game happen on its own,
emerging and falling back - without changing anything -
and all will vanish and begin anew, without end.
Only our searching for happiness prevents us from seeing it.
It is like a rainbow which you run after without ever catching it.
Although it does not exist, it has always been there
and accompanies you every instant.
Don't believe in the reality of good and bad experiences;
they are like rainbows.
Wanting to grasp the ungraspable you exhaust yourself in vain.
As soon as you relax this grasping,
there is space - open, inviting and comfortable.
So make use of it. Everything is already yours.
Search no more,
Don't go into the inextricable jungle
looking for the elephant who is already quietly at home.
Nothing to do,
nothing to force,
nothing to want
and everything happens by itself.
One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world.
― Malala Yousafzai

Bodhicitta: "enlightenment-mind", is the mind that strives toward awakening, empathy and compassion for the benefit of all sentient beings
Happy is he who has lofty and noble aspirations.

Happy is he who makes this world a better place to live in.

―Thich Nhat Hanh
We are formed and molded by our thoughts. Those whose minds are shaped by selfless thoughts give joy when they speak or act. Joy follows them like a shadow that never leaves them.

If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.

A pinch of salt can give its salty taste
To a little water, but not to the Ganges stream.
So know that, likewise, minor evil deeds
Can never change a mighty source of good.

the heart alone, Will win the hearts of others to your own.

Praying is not about asking; it's about listening...
It is just opening your eyes to see what was there all along.
― Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche
To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one's family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one's own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.
―Buddha
If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.
If you want to be happy, practice compassion.
―H.H. 14th Dalai Lama
It may be doubtful, at first, whether a person is an enemy or friend. Meat, if not properly digested, becomes poison; But poison, if used rightly, may turn medicinal.

True change is within,
leave the outside as it is.
Dalai Lama
Fashion your life as a garland of beautiful deeds.
―Buddha
Man surprised me most about humanity. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.
―14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso
However many holy words you read, however many you speak, what good will they do you if you do not act upon them?
―Buddha
Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn´t learn a lot today,
at least we learned a little, and if we didn´t learn a little, at least
we didn´t get sick, and if we got sick at least we didn´t die, so, let
us all be thankful.

No one
saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the
path.
Usually
when we hear or read something new, we just compare it to our own ideas. If it
is the same, we accept it and say that it is correct. If it is not , we say it
is incorrect. In neither case, we learn nothing.
―Thich Nhat
Hanh
We know from daily life that we exist for other people first of all, for whose smiles and well-being our own happiness depends.
―Albert Einstein
Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time and always start
with the person nearest you.

If you hate a person,
you hate something in him that is part of yourself. What isn't part of
ourselves doesn't disturb us.
―Hermann Hesse

heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.

How well we have lived
How well we have loved
How well we have
learned to let go

Happiness by Gendun
Rinpoche
Happiness cannot be
found
through great effort
and willpower,
but is already here,
right now,
in relaxation and
letting go.
Don't strain yourself,
there is nothing to do.
Whatever arises in the
mind
has no importance at
all,
because it has no
reality whatsoever.
Don't become attached
to it. Don't pass judgement.
Let the game happen on
its own,
emerging and falling
back - without changing anything -
and all will vanish
and begin anew, without end.
Only our searching for
happiness prevents us from seeing it.
It is like a rainbow
which you run after without ever catching it.
Although it does not
exist, it has always been there
and accompanies you
every instant.
Don't believe in the
reality of good and bad experiences;
they are like
rainbows.
Wanting to grasp the
ungraspable you exhaust yourself in vain.
As soon as you relax
this grasping,
there is space - open,
inviting and comfortable.
So make use of it.
Everything is already yours.
Search no more,
Don't go into the
inextricable jungle
looking for the
elephant who is already quietly at home.
Nothing to do,
nothing to force,
nothing to want
On the day that you
were born, you began to die. Do not waste a single moment more!
―Dilgo Khyentse
Rinpoche
Health is the greatest
gift,
contentment the greatest wealth,
faithfulness the best relationship.
―Buddha
Friendship is the only cure for hatred, the only guarantee of peace.
